HEAD OFFICE FUNCTIONS AT Carpenters Suva Headquarters reflect the depth of administrative and financial resources required to direct and co-ordinate the activities of a diversified group with annual sales of over $350 million.

The Group CEO, with responsibility for overall performance, maintains constant contact with the head office executive team providing strategic direction and management to operating divisions, subsidiaries and associate companies.

Group secretarial functions ensure compliance with provisions of the Companies Act, filing of annual returns, collating statistical data, and convening statutory meetings of shareholders and directors.

Carpenters maintains fully computerised online operational, financial, and administration systems through its Information Technology Division to support the Group's business activities. It has installed industry specific computer solutions for the varied businesses of the Group to maximise efficiency and delivery of customer value. It also maintains a centralised e-mail and internet facility which is widely accessible to all computer users in the Group through an integrated voice and data network.

The Group's personnel section formulates and maintains employment policy and conducts wage negotiations with employees, Government, employer's consultative bodies and unions.

Head office co-ordinates a complex and comprehensive Group insurance portfolio, covering all aspects of operations.

The Group's extensive financial services are administered from here also.

The Group's Internal Audit function is managed and coordinated by the Audit Committee based in Head Office.
